Our Health Approach

Our approach to health focuses on establishing optimal physical function throughout the body as a whole. In order to do this, we look beyond the site of symptomatic pain to determine the root cause of why the pain is there to begin with. Our evaluations consist of a functional analysis of muscular patterns in the body, which allows us to determine where deficiencies are present along connecting chains, why they are there, and how they are creating pain. With this, we then treat the chain of dysfunction by applying a mixture of chiropractic adjustments and soft tissue modalities such as Active Release Technique, Graston,  dry needling and Stecco fascial manipulation. Once the restrictions are released within the muscular chains, our patients work one on one with our physical therapists in our clinics gym. Our exercise programs are created specifically for each individuals needs and consist of focused muscle stretches, resistance exercises, and neuromuscular reeducation strategies. Each of our manual therapies and rehab approaches target different aspects of muscular function allowing for healing to occur on multiple levels. By applying this diversity in our treatments we are able to establish and correct the imbalances that lead to the initial injury and prevent future injuries from occurring.

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects that dysfunctions in these systems have on an individual’s overall health. By targeting both of these systems chiropractors are able to treat the root of the problem rather than just the resulting symptoms to allow for long term relief. Chiropractors practice a drug free, hands on approach to health care that includes a full patient examination, diagnosis, and treatment, along with nutritional and rehab education to help restore and maintain optimal function throughout the whole body.

What is a chiropractic adjustment?

When the body is in a state of natural balance among all systems, the bones are able to move freely within their normal planes of motion. However, when the body is exposed to unnatural environments, such as poor posture, muscle dysfunction, or long term injuries, the bones in our bodies tend to get “stuck” in certain positions, preventing them from moving throughout their full ranges. Chiropractic adjustments are used to help restore this natural motion of joint segments.  A chiropractic adjustment is a hands-on technique performed by applying a quick force to a specific joint within its natural range of motion in order to restore movement and functionality in that region. The adjustment also stimulates surrounding nerves and muscles, which increases communication between connecting structures allowing for better functionality. Here at Physical Synergy the doctors may perform this gentle yet effective hands on manipulation to a specific area of the body if they determine that it’s necessary for your health goals.

What to expect at your chiropractic visit:

When you come to Physical Synergy for chiropractic treatment you will receive one-on-one care with one of our chiropractors. They will conduct a detailed assessment of your condition which will allow them to determine the areas in your body that are not functioning optimally. They will then educate you on what your body needs to heal and how their services can help support that process.

After your full assessment, your chiropractor will determine the best treatment plan that will provide you with the fastest relief with long-term results. This may include a combination of chiropractic adjustments, manual therapies, Active Release Techniques (ART®), dry needling and therapeutic exercise. After any treatment you might experience some redness, soreness, or bruising, which are all normal responses to the muscles recovery and healing process. These side effects may linger for up to 48 hours but often times can be reduced with the use of ice or heat and sufficient water intake.
