What is fascia?

Fascia is what holds everything together in the body and allows for healthy, pain free motion. It’s a “web” of connective tissue formed in bands that wraps around all of the internal parts of the body from head to toe. Fascia is found directly below the skin that surrounds muscles, bones, nerves, blood vessels, organs and cells. Fascia is EVERYWHERE.

Stecco technique was developed in order to decrease the amount of time it takes for patients to recover from pain and injury, have less recurrence of symptoms after treatment, and decrease pain overall.

The treatment begins with the doctor feeling for the movement and overall density of your soft tissue in the area that is potentially causing the pain. The doctor will then use deep friction, depending on the patient’s tolerance, to move the tissue until it moves more freely. The patient frequently reports immediate symptom relief and improved range of motion after each session.
